Road Tax From 2025. From 1 april 2025, registered keepers of electric, zero or low emission cars, vans and motorcycles will need to pay vehicle tax in the same way as registered keepers of petrol. This measure will uprate the vehicle excise duty rates for cars (excluding first year rates) and all other rates for vans, motorcycles and motorcycle trade licences by the retail.
